Thank you Lorelei! This site is one of the most valuable places I can access places to learn bobbin lace making. I just figured out that my original posting that I thought was going to you, ended up being a Facebook posting instead! LOL! Had I known that, I would not have written something so long! LOL!
Hi, I'm in 3 discussion groups: Beginner bobbin lace, point ground and one other. I don't understand why threads of the beginner bobbin lace continue going to my old Comcast email address, when I've moved, no longer use it, a D.C. changed it to a gmail address in my IOLI profile some time ago. Please let me know how this can be straightened out. Thanks! Holly Powers
I'm not sure I know your name, but I have a few questions I hope you can help me with...First, if in settings I changed my email address zip code and city (moved from Washington state to Missouri), why am I still getting emails to Comcast vs. gmail, and the groups are showing I'm still living in Kent, Washington? Please advise on what I need to do to correct this. Also what is the difference between a group and the forum(s)? Finally--don't know if I should address this to you: if I want to become proficient in Bucks Point (in the IOLI program established), have no teacher or guild nearby, how is this accomplished. Or is proficiency merely for those who already are proficient in the lace but are certified? Thanks so much for all your suggestions and assistance. Holly Powers
Hello Lorelei, I have a couple of question: If my goals for the far future would make a peasant dress. Would I purchase a flat pillow with a roller or would you be able to use a bolster pillow? If so would you use a large or small bolster pillow. There are other equipment I am interested in, where can I learn more like what kind a lace would a Rue pillow make for me? What do different bobbins do.
Thank you very much for accepting me here. I am new to lace making, though, being Flemish I did try my hand at it a long time ago but did not continue. I am very appreciative that I am able to avail of lace making classes on Gozo, in Victoria. The other women are creating such wonderful works, the teacher is very helpful. I'm enjoying this bobbin lace so very much. And now I will explore this site as it look interesting. To interact with other lace makers one can learn a lot and that's what I want to do.
Thanks for letting me know about the FaceBook post. I tried to follow the link but the picture seems to be posted on a closed group of which I am not a member (or at least that is what the error message tells me) so I can't verify.
I wanted to say hello. I am back at Lace making. Thanks for all you help. I hope you are doing well these days. The website looks great. How is the kitty? Think of you often. I will reach out soon. I know its been 2 years. -Elsie
I picked interest on you after going through your short profile and demand it necessary to write you immediately.
I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a publicsite.Could you please get back to me on firstname.lastname@example.org for the full details.
