Further progress. Originally, I wanted to leave the spaces empty between the spines of the dorsal crest, but after covering the cordonnet on some of them, I could see they would not be stiff enough to stay put unsupported by the backing. So I decided to put in as fine a support that was still in keeping with the linear form, but would keep those long lines in place once the lace is removed from the backing. Because the cordonnet was covered in a number of places, it was quite a challenge to add the net without disrupting the covering stitches. I had to use a John James Tapestry Short Beading Needle size 12. Oh well...live and learn! :-D

Thank you!  The earlier stages are shown in the other pictures in the album.  You can see how the piece differs from the original drawing.   Of course, it isn't finished yet, and more is to be added.  :-D
