"Actually I think there are several grounds in Grunde mit System that are very similar to chequerboard: Here are the instructions for three of them: In diamond, pins are on the inside of the corners. 3013: 1,2: TCT3: C-P-TC4,5,6:…"

Veronika Irvine replied to Jo Edkins's discussion What is ''punto monja"? in the group Bobbinlace Beginners
"I think this is very similar to  ground 3019 in Grunde mit System by Ute Ulrich.  The only difference I can see is the pinning and the cross/twists in the corners."

"Thanks for letting me know about the FaceBook post. I tried to follow the link but the picture seems to be posted on a closed group of which I am not a member (or at least that is what the error message tells me) so I can't verify."

I am an amateur lace maker. I learned to tat as a child and I learned to make Bobbin Lace through the Ottawa Guild of Lacemakers. I have worked as an assistant editor on the Canadian Lacemakers Gazette for a few years (a long time ago now). Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science and I am looking at ways of applying Math and Computer Science to the patterns in Continuous Bobbin Lace. I would really welcome the opportunity to discuss these ideas and my findings with experienced lacemakers.
Give us titles of lace books or articles you have written, that you want us to know about.

Thank you Veronika for accepting me as friend.

As I promised it, I continue to translate Jo's site but I have some, but not too grave, personal marigolds to be settled.

Cordially.

Guy.

Welcome.  Please read all the NOTES.  They explain our policies, and how the software works.  Join any groups that interest you.  We do have a group for people who use computer programs to design lace.  If you have any questions, contact me and I'll try to help.
