"Rosemary Robertson has graciously given me permission to share a pic of her wonderful bolster pillow, that originally came from Puerto Rico. She was lucky enough to come by it from her lace guild, where a former lacer donated it, who…"
"Jo, if you watch the videos in my last post, you will find many people have a line of pins that they can sort the bobbins on to. I also see those with a lifetime of experience that have WADS of bobbins. But, really, that is a…"
"I know this is old, but I want to respond to it, because these kind of questions are always pertinent. I am just a raw beginner and can't even do anything, but practice hand movements and try to learn the sequences. But, I will…"
"Oh! In answer to my previous question, I've found this video! She takes the left hand side of one double strand, and the right hand strand of the double strand to the left and those are the 2 that she knots together. So the…"
"I have a question about the lasst set of knots, that is close to the edge of the circle. My directions say to split the 2 strands and make the knot. Do they mean, knot one of the strands, and skip the other ~or~ do they mean put…"
"I wanted to leave this link to pictures that I found on facebook - the photo album is public, and she has many examples of this kind of work and of a craft exhibit workshop, also. I'm guessing it's in Russia, can't tell for…"
"Liz, I'm sure I have both you and Jenny beaten in UFOs, I just can't count that high to know the actual number. The dumb thing is, is that no notes were required! It was written in the pattern, and seemed so simple that…"
"Lorelei, thanks! I have been reading from the links ad watching the video. I should have watched the video first, it answered a couple of ? I had. Somehow I started looking at links and forgot to watch it, which is odd, because…"
"Jenny, the directions for the first one have you start by making a group of four in a backward stitch, and keep moving right. Oddly, when I started the second one, I saw it was looking completely different, but didn't know why. …"
"I have finished 2 circles, each with their own problems. As I learn not to do this or that on the last one, then I get to this one and make other mistakes, like forgetting what I'm supposed to do and doing the complete opposite…"
"Thanks Jenny, I love your blog! I am also interested in reticella / puncetto types! Can't wait to spend more time there tomorrow! 5:09 am here, best go to bed while there's still some sleep to be had!"
"Jenny, is there a place I can see photos of your work? Please share!
I found my directions vague in many ways, and to the point of not knowing how to tie off and finish, so needle is still attached. Also, I found the directions had to…"
"I found this book with a pic right at the beginning of 'the knot' - hope it's the one I'm looking for. I'm trying to mimick it, and doing better than I was. I was afraid I was going to wear my thread out, I…"
Although I dabbled in many crafts, I guess the only one that might qualify as lace, would be the many doilies I've made. I've developed a lot of hand pain, and when I tried tatting, I found it was easier on my thumb than crocheting. I started thinking of all the things you go thru your life, thinking, I'd love to learn that one day... and happened upon some teneriffe patterns/wheels on ebay and bought those, then started thinking of bobbin lace. All this has been very recent, the tatting just started Dec 2015. I do have limited time due to being 24/7 sole caregiver to my stroke husband. That was in 2012, and all my crafts went by the wayside till 2015, when he finally got ok enough that I could start crafting again in 2015, and my craft desires exploded!
