"I realize that this is a many years old post, but I've started to learn an old hand weaving style (card weaving) And these look a lot like some of the tools I'm learning to use. A version of a shuttle, weaving pick, and maybe beater."

I am a lace maker and teacher. I am a member of the board of The Lace Museum, Sunnyvale, CA. I am a member of the Siskiyou lacemakers here in Oregon where I live. I enjoy trying many types of lace. Recently, I have researched the lace remnant found in Spiro Mounds, OK.

Actually going back to tatting now is good, it is nice to have something small to sit and do now and again.  Split rings, Mock rings, and Split chains were not invented when I originally learned, - and I have just been shown how to do split rings, - and they are so useful!!  Take up tatting again - for those quiet times of waiting around - like in Dr. waiting rooms - which we seem to do a lot recently!
