Lace Links on Pinterest

LaceNews has started yet another activity - and it's not just a standard lace links page - http://pinterest.com/LaceNews/boards/. I'm using Pinterest to identify internet sites, each with a photo, web pointer, and brief description. After only 4 days of working with this I have 29 'boards', or topic categories, and 309 pins representing individual web sites.  More are coming every day.  Pinterest account holders (a free service) can also…

Please check out the current DISCUSSION in our BOBBIN MADE TAPE LACE group about Polish bobbin lace. She lists several videos on the subject. I though you might want to add them to your playlists, if you don't have them already.

I did not see the Art Institute of Chicago among your American lace museums on your pinterest board.    http://www.artic.edu/aic/collections/artwork/category/14   They do have a substantial lace collection - over 1000 piece.  They are not usually on exhibit, but can be viewed in private apointments.  I don't know what the current rules and conditions are.  But they are definitely worth seeing.  Lots of 16th and 17th century pieces.  Genoese, Milanese and Flemish tapes laces are what i concentrated on.  You might want to add it.

Laurie:  I was just looking at the lacenews pinterest pages.  You have a page for ravelry groups, but there is one you left out.  It is an Irish crochet group, separate from Maire Treanor.  It is very active, with lots of resources collected.  Take a look, I think you will want to add it.

Hi, I have a son who lives in Los Alamos. The next time I am up there we could get together and talk lace. I get the feeling I am going to be a lone lacer down here. I do hope to go to any classes they offer in Albuquerque. It is 4 hours drive one way from here to there so I don't think I am going to do it every month.
