When I first learned to crochet, knit and tat, my mother gave me all of her old pattern books.  Most of them were printed in the 1950's, and many had belonged to her mother.  Sadly, I lost most of…Continue

I basically love lace, but don't use it because I'm just too tough on my clothes and furnishings. So I make it and share with my friends and family! I taught myself to tat from a book at age 12 in an attempt to learn patience. Still not patient, but have been tatting at a basic level ever since. In 2013 I joined the Spokane Shuttlebirds and began attending their annual Workshops. I learn so much, and my skills and creativity have taken off! I also participate in historical recreation events and that was where I learned basic bobbin lace techniques. I am fairly good at simple tape laces at this point, and can even design a bit, but have not worked with more than 2 dozen bobbins. Through my medieval recreation group I also received some one-to-one instruction on Amelia Ars needle lace and am off and running on that, now. So much lace to make, and so little time! LOL!
Give us titles of lace books or articles you have written, that you want us to know about.
I am posting projects on Craftsy under the same username: kjminniti I teach introductory tatting lessons here in the Spokane/Couer d'Alene/Tri-Cities area, and occaisionally teach more advanced techniques at the annual Shuttlebirds Workshop in Spokane. I also published a very superficial introduction to lace styles and historic uses in my SCA group's newsletter.

Welcome. Please read all the NOTES. They explain our policies, and how the software works. Join any groups that interest you. Post some photos of your best lace. (Especially the needlerun. We have some members interested in learning that. Perhaps you could help them get started.)  If you have any questions about the site, contact me and I'll try to help.
