"Hi Mary, well done I am really impressed. I had not heard of Ipswich lace before, and I am really interested now. I have had close connections with Ipswich in the the past and would really like to make some.
i would be most grateful if you could…"
I am English born & bred, and now an Aussie by adoption!!
I hope you enjoy working this new (for you)lace. Square tallies - use the Gate method - the central passive crosses from one side to the other at the finish (ie- worker is #2 bobbin, but finishes in #3 place at the end_) but that does not really make much difference when doing Leaf tallies. If doing something like a cucumber foot - of a series of square tallies, - try to always have the central passive crossing in the same direction, as the light will catch it differently if the odd one has it going in the opposite direction! Only exception I have found is in Honiton diamond filling!
