That is what Skype is for! I hope to be talking with some of the Abq lacers that way in the near future. And I'd love to meet  you next time you come to Los Alamos.

Tx is the one!  My youngest son is at school there.  I usually work on Tuesday, but will try to extend a trip next time it is around the first.  Thanks for the info!

Hi Karisse, welcome!  Yes we are in Albuquerque, but we do all kinds of lace programs on the weekends.  Maybe you could come up for the weekend and stay with one of us and enjoy our wonderful group and programs.  We will try to keep you in the loop so you know what is coming up and then you can decide if you would like to make the drive.  Just a thought that maybe we could come down to Silver city and have a lace in over one of the weekends this fall.  Then all of our wonderful lacemakers in Southern New Mexico could get together and lace...

Greetings from Tucumcari, NM   Albuquerque has a lace group and is the only one that I know of. It is a 3 hr drive from here and too far for one to travel and spend the night alone in the big city.

Hi Karisse!

Welcome to NM! I grew up in Silver and go down frequently. Lately, I spend more time in Austin! We usually meet in Albuquerque the first Sunday of the month. August will be the second, as we're just coming back from convention. Please contact me at enchantedlacemakers@yahoo.com for more info. We'd love to meet you. How about we set up a retreat in Silver? Also, the http://www.fiberartscollective.org/ will be putting on a fashion show in September that some of us will be attending. Hope to see you soon!

Hi Karisse,

You should look at the Enchanted Lacers in Albuquerque. They have a web site at http://www.freewebs.com/enchantedlacemakers/

They are a great bunch, I just wish I were closer to them (I'm in Los Alamos). But I try to do a few things with them each year.

Karisse,We have an IOLI chapter, the Enchanted Lacemakers, which is based in Albuquerque, but with members from Los Alamos and Santa Fe. Our website is http://www.freewebs.com/enchantedlacemakers/.  We have monthly meetings and demonstrate anywhere we're asked, including daily at the State Fair and occasionally at the Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe.   We're an eclectic group, some bobbin lacers, some tatters, some knit lace, some needle lace, some crochet, some various combinations of the above.  One of our members is originally from the Silver City area so a few of us attended the Fiber Arts Festival in Silver City last November.  We'd love to meet you.

Welcome.  Please read all the NOTES.  They explain our policies and how the software works.  Join whatever groups interest you.  Post some photos of your lace.  For your Puncetto interest you might consider joining our sister site http://needlelacetalk.ning.com which has an active Puncetto group and several people with experience.  Since it is also a ning site, the password you used for laceioli will work there also.  If you have any questions, contact me and I'll try to help.
