My grandmother started Elsa Petersons Spetsaffär in Vadstena 1920, 1971 my mother Gunnel Landtblom took over the buisness until her death in may 2016. Now it is my turn to go on with their work, which has changed from selling laces to produce patterns on typical Vadstena-laces. You can read more about my mother on: https://lacenews.net/category/administrative/in-memorium/ For about four years I have written about lace on the website and held several lectures at various locations in Sweden

Welcome. Please read all the NOTES. They explain our policies, and how the software works. Join any groups that interest you. I have included the Vadstena laces in the group called CLUNY (because the techniques used appear to be quite similar). If I compare Vadstena laces to other, the Danish guipures seem to be the closest, in terms of style (the design itself and motif shapes). I would be very happy to hear any of your ideas about the history of Vadstena laces, and their relation to other European laces. Issues about history and style probably belong in our HISTORY-IDENTIFICATION group, while discussion of technical details would go to the CLUNY group. I have seen the Elsa Peterson site, and have enjoyed all the photos.
