I learned lace grounds and made insertions and edgings as a teenager in conjunction with weaving lessons. My interest then turned to creating very large scale pieces with improvised bobbins and larger gauge threads. I also taught myself to knit lace patterns on size 35 needles. My mother taught me how to crochet fine gauge lace edgings as a child. Now returning to fiber arts with greater interest in fine gauge linen threads. It is time to dust off my Belgian lace pillow and perhaps make a new one. I have studied wood turning and can use my husbands woodworking shop to make tools.
