I have been sent this photo of a piece of lace and asked to Identify the type. I am not good at Identification - beyond the very obvious! It is obviously in the style of the Raised Venetian Gros…Continue

It is very sad that the Guild of Needlelaces is closing down. Oh Dear! another handcraft that is lacking support. All this Political Correctness is going too far - apparently they don't teach…Continue

Just realized why this list has seemed so quiet -- I turned off the emails while I was away on holiday, and forgot to turn them back on when I came home!! Grrr! Old age is galloping, it seems!!…Continue

Wow Elizabeth, you have done some gorgeous pieces in bobbin lace. I'm not that far in it yet. Actually I've been doing mainly tatting recently, but plan on doing more in BL and Hardanger this year...I hope.
Regarding Jon Yusoff's books. Yes, she does have more. I have completed one of her books already and now working on doing the second one now.

Elizabeth,
Success!, the pattern is available.
Go online to: Antique Pattern Library, select: Tatting, scroll down to: Platt, Mrs. C. B., Tatted Slippers for Baby. The pattern is two PDF files. The slippers (booties) are also pictured at the left of the entry.
Elizabeth,
I believe I have the same tatted booties pattern referenced in Anita Barry's reply. The pattern is credited to Mrs. C. B. Platt. I downloaded a pattern copy 10 years ago and needle-tatted my sample with DMC size 30 thread. It would fit a baby's foot of about 3 inches long.
I have not yet looked at tatting listings in the Antique Pattern Library but hopefully the pattern is still available there.
The book I was asking about is this one: 'New Patterns by Tomoko Morimoto'. I tried doing a search for it, but so many came up but the titles weren't the same. I already have at least one of her book, but I'm curious about that technique that Elizabeth has mentioned..
I also put this on the tatting page...!
Elizabeth....I tried searching for that book you had mentioned, but none came up with that title. Any chance you can put a picture of the book in here some where? You know how those searches go..! "

Hi Liz. Funny, I was just commenting to my husband that I learned tatting when I was very young and never even learned split rings. I am also considering getting more up-to date, since I can do it. There is just not enough time for everything. I love Patty's hyperbolic pieces.

Cute Sunbonnet Sue article in the IOLI Bulletin!

Welcome. You already know the software, and the guidelines are the same as for NEEDLELACETALK. Except that all hand made laces are included.
