I've come up with several. Most are too complicated for a first effort, but I've got one I think will do. Now to enlarge it to the right size and transfer it to the fabric. Lorelei mentions using a child's washable marker. I thought of using carpenter's chalk, but we don't have any. An artist friend says use a soft pencil. I'll work something out.

Finally got it, after studying Lorelei's diagram and looking at some unhelpful videos. The diagram was eventually what I learned it from. I don't know why diagrams are so hard for me. Also why can't the makers of the videos do it in slow motion? Here are the knots.…Continue

I have used these threads for the pulled thread work most recently. Suggestions from others are welcome.
- Self thread. The linen is 54 inches wide so I cut off half a yard ot so and I'm cannibalizing threads from it.
Advantages: It's linen and not slick or stiff, it's the same size as the threads of the fabric, and it's strong except when it's not. I test every length before using it. You pretty well can't see the stitches when it's in place.
