Your idea is a good one. I haven't created a group for each of IOLI's proficiency programs, but instead I have created a page within the IOLI group for each program. Look here, under the logo in the left column
http://laceioli.ning.com/group/international-organization-of-lace-inc
The links are repeated in the 2nd column under the icons/avatars of the members, in the section PAGES. Each page allows comments, so it functions like a group. Members can post photos and so forth. I have also added a link in each relevant group to the IOLI proficienty program. So BOBBIN MADE TAPE LACES has a link to the IOLI tape lace proficiency program page. The TORCHON group has 2 links, since there is a torchon technical proficienty and a torchon mastery program. Etc.
So far I only have a detailed description of the point ground program, taken from the DISCUSSION you found in the POINT GROUND group. Since we are almost on top of the convention I doubt I will get an answer if I write to the IOLI officer in charge. Remind me after convention and I will start asking for details. If you are going to convention perhaps you could corner the person in charge of that area of IOLI's activity and collect some information for us.

Hi Carolyn. Welcome, and I will be waiting to here what type of lace you make or are wanting to learn to make.

Welcome. While Devon's word is as good as gold, there is no need. Membership approval exists so I can keep out con artists and people who want to use us for advertizing. But please do read all the NOTES. They explain our policies, and how the software works. Join any groups that interest you. We do have one for IDENTIFICATION-HISTORY, one for BINCHE and the other continental straight laces, one for POINT GROUND LACE (includes Bucks) and one for BEDS. Take some time to explore. The opening page of each group has a recommended book list and links to photos. If you know of good books that aren't listed, please write a book review, and I will add your recommendation to the list for that subject matter.
If you have any questions about the site, contact me and I'll try to help.
