For those who love hand made lace.
Hand embroidered Needlerun lacework on silk with silk thread. Elements include appliqued flowers crocheted from the same thread, freshwater pearls, and a scattering of clear AB glass rocaille beads.
Ah!! I did not click on the photos, before! that is a clever idea - crocheting the raised flowers. It is very beautiful, and I hope the bride appreciated all you work!!.
Elizabeth, the flowers are, indeed raised. They are actually crocheted out of the same thread as the rest of the embroidery ahead of time, then applique'd to the net during embroidery. Look at the last photo for a nice close-up.
Very pretty. I did a wedding veil, but in cotton, - and edge that looked like ribbon bows, and there were various sprigs throughout the veil. It was my first piece of needle lace!
I love the raised flowers you have worked - or they look as if they are raised. I wish we could see a close-up.
