For those who love hand made lace.
This one of four sides which I am doing to cover a glass box. Worked in DMC number 80 thread.
Design from old re-print of an Italian book.
Albums: Lynette's lace work.
I find it easier to do NL the other way - couching down the outline threads first.I enjoy working out how to lay the ooutline in one continuous thread - quite a puzzle - especially when I put 4 Reticella squares together for a mat, an lay the whole thing in one pass!!
It is good that there are different ways, - and if I had learned A.Ars first, then probably I would prefer it!
The designs in A.Ars are so nice, though - and I have the Italian books - Il Fiori, Bordi, and Fruiti, and I love the designs in them.
Thankyou Liz, This is one of my favourite types of - Aemila Ars, & the more I do of it the more I want to!
Another Gem!! I look forward to seeing the finished box!!!!!!!
I have just had "back of the Eye" surgery, so am just doing some tatting at the moment. Needlelace will have to wait a while, I think - but I can still sit and enjoy looking at other people's efforts!!!!!!! :)
