For those who love hand made lace.
pattern is from Ulrike Voelcker's marvelous book "Barjac Ombree"
Wow! this is stunning. Very well done.
You nailed it on the Roseground - ctt pin ctt. Ulrike based this lace on three pieces of black lace she found in Barjac and studied and analyzed and then created patterns based on. The book is fantastic - both her history/analysis of the lace she had and the beautiful pieces she came up with. And working diagrams! I could never do something like this without working diagrams! As for the solid lines, I'm quoting Ulrike: "It also uses a technique I have along used in Torchon. Instead of a gimp, they used 2 contrasting pairs worked in linen stitch."
Very interesting. The background mesh stumped me at first. Is it ctt pin ctt? And are the solid lines laid onto the mesh, or is the mesh sewn onto each solid line?
