For those who love hand made lace.
While one of the earliest bobbin lace manuals, Nuw Modelbuoch has a lot of strange patterns and many seem to fly in the face of the "rules" of lace, or the commonly accepted conventions of lace. This is understandable since it was the infancy of the art, but it doesn't help a new-ish lacer like me to be able to understand it! It would seem a lot of these patterns are intended to be done in metal - wires or, more likely, metal wrapped threads.
