Knitted Lace and Lace Knitting

Knitted lace can be made into clothing, veils and shawls, tablecloths.  And it can use very fine yarns.  I've heard that “lace knitting” is patterned on one side, and plain knitting on all the reverse rows; whereas “knitted lace” has pattern on all the rows.

I like the first book "Haapsalu Shawls" better because it has all the info needed for that ethnic technique plus such a great history and stitch dictionary. "Shawls" is really ungainly, I mean humongous, and pricey! That said, of course I do own it, too!

Here's a link to the shawl I made out of the first book:

It was really fun but I doubt I'd do the border the traditional way again! Whew!

I just saw the book 'Haapsalu Scarf' by Siire Reimann & Aime Edasi. It looks beautiful. Anyone out there have it yet? Is it worth the price?
