I was wondering if anyone knew when we would be notified that our registration was processed and which classes we got enrolled into.

Sign up now for IOLI Convention classes! Registration started on Feb. 1. There are two problems with waiting to sign up. You may be too late to get into the class you want because it is full. Or, the class you want will be canceled because not enough people have signed up for it by a given day. So, to optimize your experience you should commit sooner rather than later. Class description and registration information are available at the Beehive Lacers site. The dates are August 4-10 in Salt Lake City, Utah. There will be classes, lectures, vendors, trips and lots and lots of meeting people who share your interests.

Dear Robin,

I heard from our membership Chairman, Judy Anderson. She confirms that she maintains the data base so that any changes (address, Email, lace interests, etc) should be sent to her.

In response to my questions about notifications sent to the member of expiration, she says:

I send out membership cards quarterly. The new card will have the expiration date on it. (I just re-designed it. I haven't sent them out yet.) The expiration date is also on the Bulletin label. And, I send out Emails about 1 month before the expiration date for those members who have not renewed yet.
Robin's membership expires 6/1/2013. The Spring issue of the Bulletin will be her last one, unless she renews by 6/1/2013.

Dear Robin,

On the second page of the Handbook, all the officers are listed. There is actually a separate position for Handbook Editor, with here address. I have sent her an email, along with one to the membership chair to see who should be contacted with your concern.

This specific page from their website might help.  I think it has most of your answers, and also an email link to the membership chairman.

Thanks!  I'll keep digging over on IOLI.  I just couldn't seem to find the info I needed and thought maybe a more experienced member here might know. *shrug*

Your specific questions about the information in the IOLI membership book, and membership renewal should be addressed to the IOLI organization's website.  My guess is that the membership chairman is responsible for the content of the membership book, and she should know about renewal dates.

There are 2 completely different websites, with different aims and contents.   is for IOLI the organization.  Membership issues, borrowing from the library, the Bulletin -- anything pertaining to the activities of the organization should be answered by the official persons.

laceioli is sponsored by the national organization but is completely separate.  Our mission is to address the how-to-make-lace kind of questions.  We here are focused on lace content, but not the activities of the organization.  Also the membership of laceioli does not exactly match the membership of IOLI the organization.  laceioli has many participants who are not members of IOLI the organization, although many are.

Questions about the upcoming convention make sense here, because those of us who attend can explain customary practices and what the experience is like.  But we are not officials of, so we can't give definitive answers, just general ones.  By posting the email addresses and names that Judy gave me I am trying to make it easier for our members to find the people who can give definitive answers.

Where can I update my info for IOLI?  I noticed in the membership book that the little codes next to my name don't accurately reflect my lace it says I'm into history, but I'm not.  I tat - a lot & teach tatting...which wasn't listed.

I also need to find out when to renew... I know that's coming up.

Please help.  Thanks for the info!
