Our network was accessed recently by someone looking for Valenciennes lace making lessons.  It is a rare form, and not many have tried it.  I've added the books I know about to our GOOD BOOKS page at right (we already have a very good list of Binche books).  If anyone has Val books, please add to my list by leaving a comment on the GOOD BOOKS page, I'll add it.

Yes, this is a Kortelahtti's design, one of my favourite lace designers! It was on the book "Let's make bobbin lace".

And the work on the picture is made by a Spanish lacemaker: Carmen Leboreira

I don't know what to call this lace, but continental guipure seems closest (except it has a mesh ground which looks to be one of Kortelahti's.
