Here is a modern lace in process. But I can't actually tell if she is working it as a part lace or a continuous lace. It looks like a combination of the two. See what you think.

As far as I know there is No English translation tom the Cluny Book. Pity! I had worked out that one thread was wrapped around the bundle of other threads, - but I have not tried it yet. I have the book on the shelf, and look at it, but have yet to plunge in!!!!!  Coloured tallies on a plain ground look SO good!!

A woman I'm following on picasa told me that in Cluny de Brioude they wrap one thread around the bar that carries the colored thread.  Look here: https://picasaweb.google.com/brigitte.amic/DeToutPourLesSites?nored...

Here is where she explains it:  https://picasaweb.google.com/brigitte.amic/LesDentellesDeGibritte?n...

Does anyone know of a teacher of Cluny polychrome lace? I saw a lot of it when I went to the lace convention in Montreal. I have the book Cluny de Brioude in French, is there an English translation?

What a delightful and exciting range of ways to make the balls.  It is great to see how varied they can be - lots of potential there.

This shows the verieties of balls that can be made, i'm not sure which thread you would use as they would have to stay round. when removed from the pattern.

This is how they make the balls and the pattern.
