Oh! Sorry to split your name - the L above the photo and the rest below!  don't know how that happened.

Picture too long, I think, so will crop better next time - but at least I got it here!!!

This is what my mounting looks like when completed. 2 rows of 4 sided stitch.

Yes my 2nd method involves folding.

\uap>

\uap>Work the first row to attach the lace to the fabric.  When finished fold the cloth over on the back and work a 2nd row of stitching inside the first, catching both layers of fabric.

\uap>

\uap>When the 2nd row is finished cut the excess fabric off the back.

I work a row of 4 sided stitch to hold the lace onto the fabric.

Then I fold over the excess fabric from behind the lace, and work a 2nd row of 4 sided stitch, going through both fabric layers, and the top of the stitch goes throough the same holes as the bottom of the previous row.

Then I just trim away the excess fabric close to the stitches.

Kerri

\uap>

\uap>There are 2 ways.  The 1st leaves a raw edge, which is OK because the stitches lock the fabric from unravelling.  Use either 3 sided stitch or 4 sided stitch.

\uap>

\uap>

\uap>As you stitch, catch the edge pair only, working the stitches tightly.  Whether you use 3 sided or 4 sided stitch, both will prevent the cloth from fraying.  When complete, carefully cut the excess fabric off the back.

I am ready to attach the square piece of material inside my hanky. The pattern is 'Kerry' by Joan Kelly. Any suggestions? I have not done this before.
