Yes, Aysemekik's work is lovely, and although she does wrapping or direct tatting, I think it is doable with regular tatting also. Now we just need to learn how to do the oya techniques!

Beautiful work!

Yes, Aysemekik uses an interesting mix of direct-tatting (she doesn't flip her stitches) and Oya needlelace techniques to create really beautiful pieces.  I've been collecting her "patterns," which are really just photos of herself working the various stages of the given design.  She's a genuine artist with thread!

Yers!! I got into my first choice class.  I hope others were as lucky!

I hope so too!!! I would love to meet you in person, - as with all lace makers!!  It is fun to be on thee lists and make virtual friends, - but it is Much better to be able to meet them face-to-face!

I have my fingers crossed that I will get in to a tatting class at Indy.l   I have never had a formal class in this craft, so to have a teacher next to me, making sure I am doing it correctly will be a novelty!!!  I am working on a Shuttle Brothers' pattern at the moment. I have just learned Self closing Mock rings, - so now I can work their patterns. They use it a lot, it seems!!  It is not as difficult as I expected it to be!  so that was Good!!!!! :)

Thank you, Georgia.  I am particularly interested in the vest - Very small picture of it, - but I would Love one!!  :)  Looks like an interesting book.

The front cover jacket looks great, too!  I might just have to treat myself to the book - when over on holiday later in the year. There are a couple of things I want from Lacis, - so I might just have to add to the parcel!!!!  :)  I am sure there will be room in the suitcase for just one more book...!!!

Will you be at Indianapolis this year in July?  If so - I Must get to meet you in person!!

Yes, I have written a book review for it.

It is fantastic book. Small, few pages, but the flowers are great.
