Hi there! This is Georgia Seitz from the Online Tatting Class. (http://www.georgiaseitz.com/2012/2012index.html) Our 13th year online has started and I am looking for original tatting patterns to share with the class. If you are interested in participating, please email me AKTATTER@aol.com. Also, the class is participating in another fundraiser for the Palmetto Tat Days 2012 scholarship and we need volunteers to tat butterflies and cherry blossoms this year. All are welcome to help.

And if you have an original tatting patterns to share, please share them here as well.

I have a couple of things I've considered submitting to the Bulletin.  I'm not sure though if I sent it there if you could use it in a class.  Does anyone know on that?  I've been trying to look though my Bulletins to see, but so far can't find anything.

Georgia,

I can teach a class. While preparing the project for Ginny Weathers to teach at Hector this April I've designed a variety of HEART earrings, but Ginny decided on Butterfly earrings and Heart necklace.

So 3 or 4 versions of Heart earrings just sit in my computer, can we use them online?

Can also tat a few butterflies and involve my NYC students in this; guess we can use any pattern available.

Is there a pattern for a cherry blossom or do I design one?

Talk to you soon

Nina

Thank you , Robin for wanting to share. I believe that if the pattern has been printed in the IOLI bulletin, the we should not use it in class. However, if you have another pattern to share that would be wonderful.

Nina your patterns would be so welcome. I would love to use one of them for a special event on Feb. 29th, Leap Year if possible. And the others we can do before Easter and Mother's Day.

The cherry blossoms should be no larger than a 50 cent piece or 1.5". Any pattern is ok.

The colors needed are palest pink, pink, pale rose. NO super bright pinks. A pale pink ombre would be ok.

Butterflies, any pattern, but I particularly need a few butterflies in the same colors and size as the cherry blossoms and a few in a pale green and a pale yellow. These butterflies need to look rather like the cherry blossom as they will be positioned on a branch next to a blossom, then some blossoms will be falling in the air, and at the end of that line would be a butterfly in flight. A butter fly in profile would be a nice touch, too.

Jane's pattern is being used by some. http://www.georgiaseitz.com/2011/janecherryblossom.jpg

Hello!

I e-mailed Cindy Tiger and this was her response:

The author of any pattern published to the IOLI Bulletin retains the copyright for that pattern. Therefore, any published pattern can be reprinted or reused as the author sees fit.

The only patterns that are subject to any type of constraint are original patterns submitted to the IOLI Lace Contest. The IOLI retains the right to publish them in an issue of the Bulletin for one year. After one year, the author of the pattern can print, publish, or otherwise distribute the pattern as desired.

If you have any other submission concerns contact Cindy Tiger, Bulletin Editor (ioli.bulletin@gmail.com)

Hi Robin,

I guess it is ok to use the pattern even if it has been in the IOLI journal. I look forward to seeing your work.

I am wearing a Cheery Blossom pin on my sweater today! How timely!  It's an image of the Cherry Blossoms on the Cherry Trees in Washington, D.C. near the Jefferson Memorial and Tidal Basin. Hmmm....let me take a closer look at this pin...aahh... will someone hand me a shuttle please?   :-D

How beautiful that must be!

Hi!  I sent you an email with a tatted Washington, DC Cherry Blossom photo and pattern I created.  It's for you to share with others and tweak as desired.

how many butterflies and cherry blossoms are you hoping to have for Palmetto Tat Days?

1-200 of each hopefully :)
