For those who love hand made lace.
I have taught myself to do the P pickup and 2 ds across the Picots and the edge looks right but the result does not look correct as the area between the picots and the edge does not look like the pictures. I have to pull the pickup thread tight or the edge result looks messy. The only instructions on the web are for 2 shuttle tatting for inverted tatting.
Thanks for the help! Cheers! Rosemary
Rosemary, would you please send me a photo of this sample of inverted tatting as a jpg, When saved from the doc it goes all fuzzy. I also would like permission to use the photo in the Online Tatting Class and/or BellaOnline.com as an example. Thanks.
Georgia, this is Judith Connors' work.
Rosemary, I don't have an answer to needle tatting this technique, but it is basically making a lock join with the other thread on a chain. I'm guessing you may have to insert a 2nd needle to make that join ?
Yes, tension is extremely important. Also, pearl/perle cotton is a better thread to use in 3D inverted tatting since the fibres engage to keep every stitch and join in place.
My limited trials and notes are posted here, in case you find something useful -
Happy tatting !
