Hi, I have several pieces of lace I need help with identification please.  I will add each one under a separate thread to avoid confusion. This is a small piece that measures 15cm square.

Hi Bobbie, This is a tape lace, made of machine-made tape curling around in a pattern held together, in this case, by crochet. The tape may be hard to see as a tape--it comprises the  ovals connected by thick bars at the ends of each oval. Here's what the tape looks like stretched out straight:

I agree with Nancy. 

Nancy - good that you found that tape illustration. Have you seen this kind of thing before?

Yes. It's odd that at least one of the others using this tape I've seen was also "held together" by crochet instead of embroidery, and I don't remember seeing crochet used otherwise. Maybe a leaflet with patterns using crochet came out with the tape. The tape pattern is not a terribly common one, but I don't collect tape lace so I haven't really been paying attention.
