A clever way to display edgings and insertions. https://scontent.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t1.0-9/14322624_1791733261102567_71...

This is what I call gilding the lilly. Not only is she mounting her lace, she doing a complex faggoting method with a needle. I hope she shows us the finished work. Actually it isn't faggoting, but drawn thread work.

Great idea eh!
I see what you are saying with the footside, it would of been so handy to of done the footside like in diagram 2 but i did it like diagram 1.
I really would not of known what to do so Thank you for the tip on running a thread through the footside, i have not knitted the cover for the hanger yet as i thought there may be another way to cover the hanger like in silk or cotton material and do a matching type of lace pattern attached to the whole piece of silk itself, it will mean the entire hanger is done in lace.
If you worked the footside like this you probably won't be able to gather the lace by pulling the footside passive. You may have to put in a running stitch with a needle and thread and use that to gather it.
Each crossing is CTCT.
But if you worked the footside like this, you may be able to gather the lace just by pulling one of the footside passives. The purple intersections are CTC.
