Is the polyester hexagon netting available here in the US? I know Holly VanSciver carries the cotton netting. Continue

Ann, see if you can contact Mary Shields directly. I am sure she would help you out. she is a lovely lady, - lives in Ireland, I think Ask around to see if anyone has a contact for her, and they can pass on your contact details to Mary. Or google her, as she might have a blog site, or something..
I would like to know about the polyester hexagon net too. Please let me know if you find any
Some years ago I bought a pattern from Mary Shields at a Knitting and Stitching Show. I also bought both of Mary's books. The pattern is a treble clef on some music bars intertwined with vine leaves. Mary had a completed design framed on the wall. I have almost completed the work but unfortunately have lost the chart. Can anybody suggest where I might find another chart please? Ann Sutton
Thanks for those links, Lorelei. some lovely lace there, - and so nice to see the close-ups, too.
I just spent some time doing a google search on "Carrickmacross lace", and have posted links above, under 'PHOTOS'.
Liz and Lynette: Thanks.
Click on the link above for Carrickmacross Lace books also try Amazon & Fishpond books. Good Luck!
Lasadoireacht: Practical Workbook for Carrickmacross Lace by Mary Shields There are 2 of these - parts 1 and 2 - I have them both, and the Nellie O Cleirigh book. A4 size, soft cover, thin books, but with clear diagrams and instructions and lots of patterns. Very good books and I learned from Mary's 2 books..
Nellie's book has some history to start with, too. If you are interested in starting this type of lace - then treat yourself to these books! You won't go wrong.
