For paintings of the garments worn at the time LePompe was published, see this.  Look about 1/3 down the page.

Both the 2nd and 3rd and 5th are from LePompe, the oldest known pattern book, dating from the mid 16th century.

Thanks Lorelei & Kate. When I take the pin out, I think it will be hard to find. I am reasonably happy with it & will gift it to whom it was intended. It is the second one I have done, the first one was not Square so I redid my pricking and did another one, only to cut it. I really was not looking forward to doing another yellow one, it is my least favourite colour. Next will be a blue on for me. I know my friend will love it, and probably never use it as intended. It may end up as a doily and will only be washed by hand if ever.

Thanks for the links to the threads. I think ordering on line for threads will be much cheaper than ordering fabric. I know people that pay horrendous prices to bring in fabric from OS

Hi Jenny, well done that’s a really ‘fix’. Kate

It looks quite good.  Success.

I've had a go at fixing it. The best I can do.

Jenny

Here is the link to the Sulky site. From their phone number (by the arrangement of numbers) I deduce that they are American. And this may be a problem for you in terms of shipping costs.

https://www.sulky.com/products/thread/cotton/   The website does have a section on international orders.

and here is another, but also unfortunately, American.

Lorelei, I have been doing a search for Sulky Thread. The one I have been using is Guttermann Sulky 30, but there seems to be a Sulky brand like there is a Guttermann brand. Are the two one & the same or two different brands?

I only discovered Sulky fairly recently. It's only stocked by one of our major haberdashery stores, and then only in the variegated. It has been beautiful to work with.

Sulky has a website and you can order directly from them, the full range of their products.

Hi Gabrielle, thanks for this. I had no idea. We have a very limited range where I live.

regards Kate
