Hello, I am at present trying to set up a new work.  I have forgotten how to start it and how many bobbin I should put on. I wonder should it be nine or more?  I'd would love some help with this.

Many thanks,

Agnes

I'm coming up with 9 pairs, but I am no expert.  You can start with 10 and as you begin working you will know for sure and can add or leave out if needed.

Thank you Denise, I will try the 10 and see how it goes.  But in the meantime I have set up another work, there again I am only guessing how many bobbins and at the moment I am muddling through it, no worry as I don't mind undoing work until I get it right but enough for today.  Tomorrow I might have time to do some more or start from scratch.  It seems this pattern is too small for the linnen tread that I am using.  I'll add a photo (but it's bad work so far I admit).

Many thanks for your reply.

Kind greetings

Agnes

Muddling is what I do best since I've never had lessons and had to learn from books.  I think you are right the thread is a bit heavy.  I have a piece that I started several years ago and decided the same thing.  It is still there and I've not had time to restart or start another piece.  Oh well, too little time and too many hobbies!! LOL  Enjoy the process and keep muddling.

Thank you so much for your help Lorelei.  That is going to make things so much easier for me.  Much appreciated.

Thank you very much Jo, it looks very interesting and I have bookmarked it and will use the information for sure.  It's very helpful.

Kind regards
