German Hooded Bobbins anyone?

Hi all!

I am going to try my hand at using a bolster pillow and german hooded bobbins for Idrija lace (purchased from https://www.kloeppelshop.de/index.php?lang=0&;) , but cannot find a video or instructions for winding the bobbin pairs. I didn't buy the instruction DVD from that site, thinking that the Hensal productions DVD would include all the info I would need.

Does anyone know how? Any help is appreciated!

My pleasure. I like hooded bobbins myself, got a bunch a few years ago, and had the hardest time finding information on how to work with them, so I saved this video for future reference. I'm glad it helps!

I have a great video by Martina Wolter Kampman, but it is in German.  You might try asking the Hensels

if the Idrija or Schneeberger videos talk about this at all.

Their DVD is how I got interested, but it doesn't show how to wind them. I did try them first - that way they know what is missing. The DVD is OK, but not as good as your intro class! I'm glad I took yours first. :-)
